MRC President Pays Courtesy Visit to IFRC Secretary General

Following his recent election in April 2025, MRC President Ali Nashid paid a courtesy visit to IFRC Secretary General Jagan Chapagain, at the IFRC headquarters in May 2025.
During the meeting, they discussed key priorities for the future of the Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC), including the sustainability of the National Society, youth engagement and empowerment, and the strengthening of existing partnerships within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
This meeting marked an important opportunity for the newly elected President to reaffirm MRC’s commitment to working closely with IFRC and movement partners, as well as to explore ways to enhance collaboration, build organizational sustainability, and create more opportunities for youth to actively contribute to humanitarian action.
