Hazard Vulnurability Capacity Assessment

Hazard Vulnurability Capacity Assessment

Composition of knowledge surrounding the hazards and vulnerabilities in a community is a steppingstone to enhance a culture of disaster resilience. Under the project,  in partnership with the National Disaster Management Authority, MRC has taken the initiative to support Hazard Vulnerability Capacity Assessments (HVCAs) across 7 islands and the development of Island Disaster Mangement Plans.

HVCAs allow communities to take lead in understanding the unique environmental, social, physical, and economic vulnerabilities they face and the ways in which they could mitigate, prepare for, and respond to such vulnerabilities.
